Barak graduated from the University of Delaware with a BA in biology. After working for a few years with a medical device company in NYC, he decided to pursue his master’s in immunology at Loyola University Chicago. During his time at Loyola he has worked in a research lab that focuses on inflammatory-related conditions. He has volunteered with middle school students in various areas: tutoring middle schoolers in Maryland (primarily STEM focused) and doing scientific experiments with middle schoolers in Chicago once a week. He looks forward to meeting and getting to know new tutees and is excited to work with them and watch them progress over time. Outside of the science field, Barak enjoys the food scene in Chicago (although not a huge fan of deep dish pizza), and is an avid comic book movie fan (but don’t ask him to choose between Marvel and DC).
